Bluebell

A Textile Story Shaped by Nature and Time

Created to mark 140 years of Nevotex, the anniversary fabric Bluebell is a tribute to time, transformation, and the quiet connection between nature and craftsmanship. Inspired by the Norwegian mountains, the design draws from a landscape where colors are slowly shaped by soil, plants, and shifting weather over time.

Developed in collaboration with Bent Erik Myrvoll, the project begins in nature itself. By collecting plants, flowers and minerals from the terrain and transforming them into handmade pigments, Myrvoll created a palette beyond industrial production. These unique colors formed a painting, which later evolved into the textile pattern – carrying a direct trace of its natural origin.

The pattern is a direct expression of nature’s own colors, creating an immediate visual impact. Bold and distinctive, it captures the intensity of the landscape, while carrying a depth shaped by both natural processes and the artist’s hand.

At the heart of the design is the bluebell flower. Standing out with its vivid blue against the rugged surroundings, it brings a sense of resilience and quiet strength. This character mirrors Nevotex’s own journey – shaped over generations by adaptation, continuity and craft.

With Bluebell, Nevotex looks both backward and forward. It is a tribute to 140 years of knowledge and craft, while embracing new perspectives through collaboration with an artist who challenges convention and explores new ways of seeing. Just as nature continues to evolve, so too does Nevotex – creating something new, grounded in what endures.
