Round plint rattan, Ø4mm ca 30m/rl

Round cane strip is used to fix the fabric or weave on for example, a chair seat. It is glued and pressed into the groove to hold the fabric in place. Cane splint is a common material when restoring older furniture that includes cane webbing, but can also be used when braiding baskets, coasters and other decorative objects.  

The material should be soaked in water before use to become malleable. By soaking the cane splint in lukewarm water for approximately 15–30 minutes, it becomes soft and pliable, which makes it easier to shape around curves and corners without cracking. When soaked, it is flexible but becomes stiff when it dries.
